Excellent service and large room
Would have prefered a bath to a shower

Good selection of TV Channels.
Mouldy and smelly bathroom, ancient mattress which needs replacing, corridor filled with dirty laundry and uncleared room service trays even at 5pm in the afternoon, "automaton" approach of staff.
Overall: Ramada should be ashamed to have this hotel in their chain. Upon checking in I saw on my room card "Discount room only". So already I had been designated a second class citizen for booking through Active Hotels. Upon entering the room there was a distinct smell which I attributed to the rural location of the hotel. However when I closed the window which had been left open the smell got stronger and it was clearly the mould which was abound in the shower cubicle. On walking to my room the corridor was littered with laundry and room service trays which hadn't been cleared. This may be acceptable up to midday but at 5pm, this should be a completed task by household staff.I didn't eat in the restaurant but went to a nearby retail park which was equally disastrous. In the morning, there was no-one to meet you at the breakfast restaurant. So I found my own table and helped myself until someone appeared to serve coffee after I'd been there for 15mins. Upon check out, I politely informed the asst manager about the shortcomings of the room but he didn't appear to be too bothered. He wasn't rude but just indifferent which seems to be the attitude in general for the staff working there. (108431524)

The hotel was very shabby andthe rooms lacked any general appeal.
Overall: Achieved all we needed whilst avoiding any unnecessary stay at the hotel. We found it very poor value for money when considering the local, Travelodge, Premium Inn, etc competition. (107423535)
