Staff friendly and helpful

Although it is clean the hotel gives a jaded and rundown experience. We were disappointed to find that the dining room was only open when a coach party was booked into the hotel, although a variety of restaurants near by.

Convenient location

Old hotel way past time for refurbishment. Stained carpet and wallpaper.

Clean and comfortable room. Well stocked hospitality tray.

Very slow hot water supply (extreme end of the long second floor corridor ?) Very low cold water pressure ( " " " ) Teapot cracked where the handle joined the pot, giving rise to leakage. Reported to reception but informed 'no replacement available'

room was spacious and tidy. use of iron, ironing board and hairdryer very helpful.

Bathroom was really unhygienic - full of mould. I had to go out to the shops to buy a sponge to clean the bath before using it. The worst point of all was the extremely noisy Karaoke bar over the road. It kept me up most of the night so the next morning I was totally exhausted - which sort of defeats the object of paying for a bedroom to get some sleep.

Overall: Room itself was functional, but the bar across the street ruined any peace I was hoping to fine (even with the use of earplugs).  (108257621)

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
