Centrally located, Pleasant area, reasonably easy parking. Very Cheap.

The Hotel obviously has not been refurbished for many many years. All alterations that seem to have been carried out by local handyman, not by trade professionals ( see bathroom nr 4 ). All furniture in room chipped and worn.

Overall: Was overall OK for myself a single male, just wanting a room to sleep in. At £25/night good value. However if the rooms, in the condition they are in were more expensive, would have gone to a travel lodge.  (108171802)

Room was reduced from £55 per night to £25 per night, through online booking discount. Room was quite big and had en-suite, which i wasn't expecting. Woman i went to find to check me in was very friendly. Bed was comfy. Room was adequate for what i needed it for i.e. an over night stay to go on a works night out. Good location very close to town centre.

Shower took ages to heat up, i was beginning to think there was no hot water left. I wasn't offered a receipt for my cash payment. No one on reception when i checked in or out. Room was in a kind of link between the 2 buildings, so very noisy. Thought someone upstairs was coming through the ceiling at one point. Bathroom was a bit scratty looking by the toilet and the blind over the window didn't quite fit, which meant that people outside could see in, didn't realise this til i was outside looking up at room though. Wasn't offered a car parking space in the hotel grounds, so had to pay for on street parking.

Overall: Wouldn't have wanted to pay full price for the room, cos it just wasn't worth it, as breakfast wasn't included. I would stay at this hotel again, if the room was discounted and i was only using it as a base again. Maybe the full price rooms in the main building are worth their full price.  (108624752)

public areas, garden, breakfast, close to business location.

shower hot/cold switch broken, barely sufficient toilet paper, live snail in shower, bad smell emanating up from shower, poorly flushing toilet, carpet under bed very dirty/dusty, musty smell in room and corridors.

Overall: Exactly what I didn't need when I had an extremely taxing business meeting that next morning. This is my 3rd and worst stay in Bedford in 2 years. My organisation regularly sends people to Bedford, two colleagues are going in November. I suspect they'll stay elsewhere.  (108424527)

Very good price for the room and the food was OK.

The room was small and tired looking. Could do with a complete refurb to get everything looking and working as it should.

Overall: This was a short stopover visit so it fitted the purpose. At the price paid I wasn't expecting luxuries.  (108867849)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
