The lift worked... oh, and the reception staff, whilst unable to help with the problems (see bad points) were pleasant and helpful

There's a building site (ripping up the road)outside of the front of the hotel, so access is difficult (with luggage)- no mention of this on the site. The room had scuff marks up several walls, one of the wall lights was hanging off, the safe was broken and the sink in the bathroom leaked.... to top it off, the room cleaning appears not to be thorough... as the previous guest(s) had left a complementary 'spliff'/ joint in one of the drawers. We booked a twin and ended up in a triple- which was a twin room, but with three beds in - no room to swing a cat.... the radiators worked, which is just as well, because when the windows were closed, you could actually see daylight.. and the rubber seal was broken. There was no 'manager' available to complain to or deal with the above issues (several!)

Overall: With the exhange rate as it is, it was not value for money.... had it not have been for the building site/need for caution when walking due to the uneveness of the paving/ sand etc, it probably would have been quite a pleasant walk into town  (107833345)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
