Swimming pool etc. facilities were good.

Room was pokey. No hot water (literally nothing out of the tap!!!!) in the morning. Hence no shower, shaving in cold water!

Overall: Probably should have gone for a double room for the minimal extra cost!  (1714966)

Good shower

Initial impression was what a dump

Overall: The hotel itself could do with a complete refurbishment,as the initial impression is not good. It looks scruffy and older than it is. That aside the facilities are excellent and the staff very polite and helpful. The stay was pleasant.  (1556012)

shower room was disgusting, brick walls felt like a prison, carpets in bedrooms were full of iron burns

Overall: Room 311 -- shower room was appalling as no unit to retain shower water so needed wellies to wade through the water. Only 1 spare plug socket in rooms & not near mirror / room 309 very poor lighting.Carpets were worn & burnt by an iron in several places. Brick walls felt like you where in prison. It appears all the money spent at hotel is used just on the leisure facilities & not on rooms.  (1542037)

Excellent facilities for a very good price. The restaurant provided a good selection of meals, was excellent quality, huge portions and all for a fair price. very happy indeed.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
