Cash, the main reception lad, was very helpful and friendly. Our checkin was very easy (just handed us a key)

dirty room/old bathroom/lousey mattress/smoking environment/no shower/paper thin walls/

Overall: never again.  (108141271)

Very friendly staff. Very good breakfast in the coservatory. 10 minute bus ride to Necastle fromn outside the door. Easy to find on the otskirts of town.

Situated in an area that is undergoing improvements - so some vacant land next door and industrial units nearby - but it was quiet.

Overall: Very good value for money, good amenities, easily reached  (108265176)

Clean, friendly and good position on a bus route for travelling to town and city

None to report

Overall: Arrived early and was still attended to by a very polite member of staff - same when leaving after a very good breakfast - will use this hotel again if I am visiting the area ***  (108961755)

3.3 / 5 3.3 / 5 Barrey [McCracken, South Australia, AU] on 26/08/2009 (Mature couple)

Room was neat and clean. It was quite well set up with sufficient space and fair decor. Breakfast was adequate.

No meal available when we arrived - although it was quite late and bar did not remain open long. Hotel location w industrial and not easy for touring people to find. Breakfast was restricted and not well organised.

Overall: The room was nice and the area quiet at night but hard to find a meal. Reasonable rate but not a good location to stay.  (107576952)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
