Nice room. Wonderful bed, very comfortable.

The room was very, very small, it felt crowded when two people in it. The girl working at breakfast could have offered a smile or....?

Overall: The check in was very poor. The receptionist did not pay us any attention until we told her (after 15 min) she was on the phone.  (108880095)

Character property, easy to find, good central location. Free wireless Quiet bedroom (as requested) Clean and warm bathroom Staff were friendly and pleasant

Bedroom; very dirty carpet; heating/air con didn't work; curtains tatty at the hems; damp smell; desk chair the wrong height; very small; with no drawers for clothes; nowhere to store suitcase out of the way. Went to bar for snack and there was nobody there to serve me so went out to a restaurant Dining room so dark that on a gloomy morning it was hard to see the food!

Overall: I think they are trying too hard to be a more upmarket venue than is realistic - less self-conscious design and more attention to the basics would help. A dirty bedroom carpet is an instant turn off.  (108160427)

Lovely location, quaint hotel and interesting room - we stayed in the 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' suite (Elizabeth I room)

Bedding not too comfortable, would prefer a duvet as opposed to blankets

Overall: Very good  (108711228)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
