From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out we felt completely relaxed and at home. The food was excellent, the room was comfortable and well furnished and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

Overall: Despite my husband being incapacitated due to knee surgery, we were still able to celebrate his 60th birthday in lovely surroundings. Thank you all.  (108911549)

Period charm and original features exactly as described and what we wanted. Staff pleasant and friendly. They remember you! Bathrooms clean and very functional.

Rooms are size you would expect of an inn, but the normal double rooms furniture let's it down. Would want/expect old chest of drawers etc not painted wood which looked like something from travel lodge. TV reception quite poor, but it was not the reason for staying there.

Overall: Very good and relaxing. Good choice of food, and good service. Staff at Dinner and breakfast polite and friendly. Have recommended it to friends already. Easy access to Oxford and a very pretty village in itself.  (108229047)

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
