Very Private

The actual accomodation was good but the hotel is let down by the attitude of staff.

Overall: I felt that the hotel was let down by the staff. on three occasions in the two nights stay i found the staff un-helpfull and quite rude. Sarcasam is not necessary and they should be taught how to address customers even if the customer has made a mistake like (not quite reading a notice fully then asking questions) or (not ordering starters first). how stupid!!!!! It had been a stressful weekend without this attitude.  (1642559)

The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the staff were very friendly.

Dated, required modernisation, poor window security.

Overall: With more advance booking, would have selected upgraded room. For a 2 star hotel, it was expensive accommodation, but the food was true value for money.  (1548858)

The room and bathroom were each spacious and the furniture was solid and comfortable, with good storage space. The breakfast offered a wide range of options from fruit, yoghurt and cereal to full English, with lovely fresh toast.

The carpet in the bedroom was dirty - not with stains, but in need of overall cleaning. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes or toiletry bags, and no place to hang wet towels. Service in the restaurant was slow. The menu for evening meals was interesting, but the meals themselves were poor. The first night, I ordered a baked potato with vegetables - it was very small, overcooked and lukewarm. The next night I ordered ribs. They were served with chips but without any vegetables, salad or garnish and appeared to have been microwaved from frozen They looked visually awful and were completely unpalatable. I had to send them back to be crisped in the oven. I then ate half the portion because I was hungry, but regretted it afterwards!

Overall: We enjoyed our stay, except for the disappointing evening meals. We would stay again.  (108925864)
