The staff were all exceptional.

The staff were generally friendly and chatty, there was a wedding reception on the evening that we arrived and people seemed slightly harrassed but still helpful.

On arrival the person on reception didn't seem to be on the ball and once she had acknowledged that we were there, she continued to rummage in her hand bag for ages before saying she'd 'get the manager'.

Overall: We were stopping over the weekend to go hiking over the Brecon Beacons with a comfy bed and a bath for afterwards rather than camping. I would stay again and I would recommend other people for short breaks.  (108486292)

Staff friendly, breakfast very nice, hotel bar well stocked!!

Didn't get the room I'd booked (meant to be a four-poster bed for the special occasion - had "already been allocated....")- ended up in a standard room, uncomfortable bed, tired looking hotel in general.

Overall: Adequate  (108432313)

Friendly and accomodating staff, Good breakfast, Good beer.

Very dated decor, basic room, some stains on wooden furniture

Overall: Reasonable value for money at £65 incl breakfast. Stayed there as couldn't get anything else near Millennium Stadium.  (108522229)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
