clean

bedroom in basement, could hear tube trains underneath all night. Worried about security and fire escape route

Overall: only just bearable: might be better staying upstairs  (108941514)

Overall: I don't like being charged for the accommodation before arriving at the hotel. It was a pre-authorised payment, but my bank called me to check you weren't fraudulent. The hotel mistakenly insisted I hadn't been charged.  (108358801)

Considering London prices, it was OK. The room was clean and warm which was all I required. Good location. Bed was comfortable which was a plus.

The hotel itself is shabby and run down. Haridryer didn't work, the back of the bedroom chair came off in my hand when I pulled it back.

Overall: It was OK for one night maybe two.  (108902611)

location; price

Heating ran all night - noisy, wasteful. Could not turn off bathroom radiator - resembled a sauna! Overcrowded breakfast room

Overall: OK for overnight; would be inadequate for longer stay  (108706908)

1.9 / 5 1.9 / 5 Anonymous on 12/10/2009 (Solo business traveller)

Convenient central location

Small, hot and stuffy room. Venitlation via open window allowed intrusive noise. The "full" English breakfast was frugal, with the sausage being off and not replaced after complaint. Overall, the room was certainly not worth £85. £65, perhaps £70 would have been fairer, even with central location.

Overall: The bare minimum for an overnight stay.  (108749442)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
