There were no good points
Room very small,dressing table chair almost touching end of bed, noisy next to cleaners cupboard, restaurant staff poor little or no motivation to provide good customer service. Car park area too far from hotel, most convient parking taken up by Golf club members should be resevered for hotel guests. Hotel on too many levels, having to go up two floors to come down one floor to get to restaurant and bar.
Overall: Poor stay hotel looks impressive but is in fact very poor inside and well worn needs serious re-design and renovation. (108613769)
clean room; pleasant staff at reception.
1. room overlooked bottle-yard for bar and we were disturbed twice by bottles being binned. The lack of airconditioning made the room exceptionally uncomfortable, but open windows allowed this noise to enter room.
2. breakfast organisation was a shambles; food was poor and empty food containers were very slow to be replenished. System was not explained to guests many of whom were completely in the dark about how to get a table. restaurant manager was unhelpful.
3. we appreciate that fire alarm was unavoidable but we were very concerned about the lack of presence of staff and information about when it was safe to return to rooms. No-one appeared to check the hotel was cleared or that it was safe to return. Guests simply filtered back into hotel at will. There seemed to be no thought given to the evalcuation of disabled guests.
Overall: Very disappointed in what appeared to be a lack of professionalism and coherent management. (108944978)

Our room was upgraded after being given a twin room which was then soaked as the result of a storm and an open window. This room was excellent double doors looking out over lovely grounds and a lake. The member of the reception staff who helped us move rooms for the second time was extremely helpful and courteous.
We were given a double room although booked for a twin and despite phoning a couple of days earlier to confirm our booking.
We were disappointed that there were no tea making facilities in the room.
Overall: We enjoyed our stay. Excellent cooked breakfast with wide choice of fresh fruit, cereals, croissants, toast etc. (107870491)

Wrong room allocated initially but soon put right
Very expensive foods & wine. £5 tray charge to bring a bottle of wine to the room.
