Friendly and obliging staff, clean & well-furnished room, great breakfasts, excellent location for theatres and sight-seeing.

Tap water not hot and often not even warm - should be fixed but not a major issue affecting our stay

Overall: We thoroughly enjoyed it. It would have been nice to have an Internet picture of the various room types available so we could have an idea of what was on offer before arriving at the reception counter.  (1619015)

Stylish decor in reception rooms and dining room. Really excellent breakfast with lovely lady server who was anxious to please. NIce touches in the room.

Overall: Very good. When I telephoned the reception staff they were a little less knowledgeable about parking than I would have liked. ie the car park was further away than they said and the name was incorrect even though it was accessed in Grt Russell St,it was called Adeline Place, so this did not marry up with the NCP maps.  (108611836)

location and staff

Shower was filthy with black mould, hair dryer wasn't working. Toilet in reception was blocked. Asked in phone call to hotel for 2 rooms together, one double one twin. On arrival had been allocated two rooms at different parts of hotel, not suitable when we had children were with us. Rooms were changed to be beside each other but both were doubles.Lack of lift long climb to top floor.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
