NONE

TV not working when I mentioned it I was told that they were switching over to digital and only had BBC1 or foreign channels, when I complained and said I wanted to cancel the rest of my book they told me I would have to pay a cacellation charge for the following night. They offered pay per view movies for free as a compensation but only after i protested vigorously.

Overall: Would not recommend and would not stay again  (108198673)

1.1 / 5 1.1 / 5 Steve [STOKE-ON-TRENT, GB] on 02/11/2009 (Family with young children)

Location

Ripped carpet and poor standards of cleanliness in the room.

Overall: See above. When arriving at the hotel the last thing that I needed was to go in search of a better hotel; better to "put up with it" for one night and still bre probably charged for the room anyway.  (108837858)

Service was good

Bathroom had not been cleaned properly, bins had not been emptied, the shampoo dispenser was empty....TV had limited channels.....basic things were not very good.

1.7 / 5 1.7 / 5 C [Ipswich, GB] on 27/10/2009 (Group of adult friends)

Location

A/A plus ran out of tea bags and could not supply us any whilst in our rooms. Very poor

Overall: OK but rooms very small, very hot and fan very noisy.  (108264016)

4.0 / 5 4.0 / 5 Anonymous on 25/10/2009 (Group of adult friends)

location is excellent, continental breakfast has nice pastries and a reasonable price

The "cab" the hotel ordered for us for the return trip to liverpool street cost one third more than the cab we used on the way o the hotel, nobody told us up front that a "private company" would be called instead of a regular cab. We felt taken advantage of.

Overall: nice location, small room full of appliances  (108576971)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
