Well placed for town centre shopping, the castle and wallace monument

Parking facilities ok.

Reception staff were atrocious - vague and incompetent. Despite booking five rooms only four seemed to have been allocated, eventually another was found. Despite requesting interconnecting rooms at the time of reservation these were not allocated and when we specified this was necessary staff "rearranged" rooms so that we were in interconnecting rooms but when we went to the rooms they were not! Keys were given to party members for rooms that were already occupied by strangers, as well a rooms the staff had already allocated to our party! Finally on departure there was confusion about how the accounts were to be settled despite having advised them that the booking was secured with my card details at time of reservation. No extras were added but we still had difficulty persuading staff that nothing further was due to be paid and the final straw was when one of our party was given the account for an entirely wrong room which belonged to another guest. Reception was frankly a shambles and totally unprofessional.

Overall: Will not return. Did not represent good value for money. Disabled access was poor and not that well signed. Generally we were disappointed. Had booked this hotel having stayed here in some time ago as we were attending a family get together in Stirling. We booked five double rooms and had expected a level of service which reflected the price we payed for room only. Would welcome your response to my comments.  (108566275)

Very nice historical hotel building, which was clean and well kept.

We asked for the Room Service Breakfast at two different times - 6am for my wife, and 7am for myself. We didn't get any breakfast at all until 7.20am. The room service receptionist was rude when we asked where breakfast was at 6.15am, saying we had completed the Room Service Breakfast request card incorrectly - therefore it would all come together after 7am. Apparently the request card has facility to request a different breakfast/times for two guests, but we do not recall seeing this on the card at all.

Overall: Our stay was spoilt by the poor staff attitude regarding the Breakfast room service order, and the noisy doors banging on rooms nearby us very early in the morning.  (108660841)
