The staff were very good, and the breakfast was excellent, including vegetarian sausages, and fresh fruit. Also, the wireless internet connection was speedy, and there were plenty of television channels and radio, which included radio 4.
The stairs were steep and narrow, and caused me some difficulty. I inadvertently booked a room which was not ensuite, which was no good for me. The room was small, and didn't have a desk or work area, so would have been no use to me if I had been on business.
Overall: The staff were particularly good, and helped me sort out my room, including dragging a very heavy suitcase up several flights of stairs! (108257689)

good value for money; fast free broadband throuhg WAP
in the city centre & close to all main touristic attractions. 1 mile from Echo Arena & Albert Dock.
rooms are relatie=vely small but not bad. My TV had only 7 channels on it but my friends room had many!
Overall: Will go there in the future (107373313)

Very reasonably priced
Not quite as advertised. For example, I did not know there would be a 4% charge on credit card payments. Photo of bar on website was a bit over the top compared to the real thing (in the photo, it looked like a super-luxury bar where you could socialise with other guests in a luxurious setting??? The reality was somewhat more down to earth...) And breakfast did not live up to the menu. Tomato for example came straight out of tin and had merely been warmed a little bit!?!? And black pudding, fried bread etc. were on menu but not offered or served at all. Bed was unfortunately a little too short for a tall person like me. The welcome when I arrived was a bit spartan.
Overall: Overall considering the price, I had a clean hotel, very clean bedroom and perfectly adequate washing and toilet facilities. For the price it was good -- particularly considering how close to the centre the hotel is. For a practical stay in a clean budget-priced hotel, it was just that: clean, practical, OK! Certainly nothing special but very acceptable for the price. (107701588)

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
