Staff were very helpful except the receptionist on my arrival who was rather off hand. Clean and well maintained. Food very good value and interesting menu.Good breakfast. Restaurant staff very attentive. Very good checkout service. Had I brought my costume etc, I would have really enjoyed the pool/gym
The mattress was very very hard and left me with back ache each morning. The pillows were awful. The bath water was not hot enough(very disappoionting when I was looking forward to a hot soak after a long days work, if you supply a bath, you should supply proper hot water too)!!! The other quests were noisy late at night and woke me up (poor sound insulation).
Overall: Generally, not bad at all although I did not sleep well and this was due to the poor bed/pillows/other guests and so I could not give a good rating. The staff and food were mostly very good. (108810002)

good clean hotel with easy access to the town centre and train stattion.
no bad points although the selection of largers in the bar needs adding to not enough choice.
Overall: The hotel was ok for my stay as i was just stying there for a night out in St Albans. (108145927)

Staff were friendly and the modernisation of the public areas was nice and acualy better than expected.
Bedroom corridors awful -but then we were in the old block. Bathrooms need upgrade too. Lighting needs to be more intimate for dinner service, as we felt like we were sitting under a flood light - well it was spot lights -full on.
Overall: The hotel did what it says on the tin. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. (108221866)
