1.6 / 5 1.6 / 5 CHRISTOPHER ALAN [Castellon, ES] on 20/08/2009 (Group of adult friends)

Fine central location, reasonably good room cleaning service.

The hotel cannot possibly be classified as 3-star. There are virtually no facilities to justify this. Small, hot triple room with tiny bathroom. No wardrobe in room. Located on ground floor opposite traffic lights, so noisy with window open in the hot weather. Poor breakfast.

Overall: Hotel pretends to be what it isn't. It's basically an accommodation only guest house with 3-star prices. Also asked for payment at the check-in, a bit strange for 3-star hotel. Had to ask for receipt on check-out. Hotel has done a good marketing job on website, photos etc, but the reality is quite different.  (108507361)

Good central position to view sights of London

Room and bathroom exceptionally small but OK for sleeping.

Overall: Most satisfactory  (107340384)

Convenient, good value for money.

Breakfast is limited, breakfast time is too short. Check out is too early.

Overall: Great location, good value for money, works for a weekend stay but not for longer stay.  (107546631)

5.0 / 5 5.0 / 5 Samantha [Prestatyn, GB] on 29/04/2009 (Solo leisure traveller)

The hotel was clean, staff were lovely and opened breakfast early as I was running the marathon. To have the key to come and go without needing reception was a good plus point too.

There weren't any - the rooms were small and I had the box room but I was aware of that when I booked and it was clean and en-suite which was everythign I required.

Overall: I loved the location, I was doing the marathon so it was a benefit to be so close to Victoria and to have breakfast moved to an earlier tinme to suit me was wonderful and saved me having to find somewhere at 7 in the morning on a sunday! The rooms are small as advised but are more than adequate and the satff were lovely.  (107306292)

Hotel is central but still in a quiet area. Though they stated they changed towels every other day, they did manage to change them daily (or at least they folded it back on top of the bed). The room even had TV (Not that we asked for it)

A bit expensive for the room size (small room, no closets, one small bathroom with shower) but probably wouldn't find cheaper... Toilet didn't flush well. Breakfast was simple (continental breakfast, with tea or coffee and toast... two toasts).

Overall: It was a convenient stay but overpriced by the city reputation! Been in better places for better prices. I mean in large cities with touristic attractions also  (107565673)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
