we were overcharge on the breakfast ,we booked on line and the price was inclusive.Hopefully the matter has been sorted

Loud party in the garden. Children threw some stuff in our room. After 2x informing the staff the situation was tolerable.

Our room was fairly clean and the breakfast was ok.

The main lounge area was untidy, staff walked past and ignored items left on floor and tables such as a paper serviettes, bits of food etc and seemed totally disinterested in their jobs. Generally staff were unfriendly, verging on impolite. Girl on Reception seemed stressed and again unfriendly. The hotel was noisy and hot and we had very little sleep due to a party in the conference suite that night. (The music/guests was still waking us up at 2.30 am)

Overall: Disappointing as we have stayed there before and been very satisfied.  (108792566)

The hotel staff were welcoming, approachable and the reception staff went the extra mile trying to help with a problem we encountered (nothing to do with the hotel). The room was very clean, comfortable and the bed gave an excellent nights sleep. The hotel was in a good location as an overnight stop or as a base to explore the area. Definitely one to use again.

It would have been nice if the hotel restaurant had stayed open later on the Friday night when we arrived tired and hungry. We turned down the bar menu hoping to find a restaurant in Stevenage which turned out to be a soul less new town nightmare of 18 -30's Friday binge drinking. We didn't realise accepting a ground floor room would mean departing cars, shouting people after midnight. Some of the restaurant staff on the Sunday morning seemed less than enthusiastic and I had to go looking for someone to bring coffee/tea. Others were keen to be helpful but were obviously new. At one stage myself and four other guests were all waiting for empty or nearly empty cooked breakfast trays to be refilled.

Overall: Great hotel, mostly excellent staff and very good value for money. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.  (107611048)

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
