No good points really, apart from it was close to where our friends live and we weren't woken up by maids or anyone crashing about the next morning, which is what normally happens in hotels.

Musty sheets, horrible bathroom, receptionist not very cheerful.

Overall: We only wanted a bed to sleep in. Wasn't planning on spending much time in the room. The bathroom was in need of some care and the sheets smelt musty.  (108622424)

Good Breakfasts

Our Bathroom was in need of renavation the sink was cracked and stained, the taps were dirty around the base (needs a toothbrush to clean around the base) the loo was stained and the floor sticky the door handles were dirty and sticky, there was black mould in the bathroom. and in the bedroom one lamp beside one side of bed, the wall light was not working and when we tried to close the window the frame came away from the glass ( very dangerous)! no soap in dispencer or complimentry sopa or shampoo or bath cap ect.,

Overall: On arrival we had to walk past a group of smokers into the entrance hall, then onto our rooms through corridors that smelt of smoke and into our corridor (strong smell of cigarettes)We all felt that the hotel felt unloved and tacky and we agreed that our rooms felt as if they were used for patrons of the night club who booked in to use it for the night. The restaurant chairs were all stained and as was the carpet and bar floor area dirty, we were told by a chambermaid that on the other side of the hotel the rooms were all of good standard so I cannot understand why we were not offered them as our room cost the same as them per night! We would have been happy to return had it been pleasant as our family lives locally, but sadly we will not be returning again  (108687740)

I cannot think of one good point of our stay at this hotel.

The room was poor and in the corridor one of the other rooms had had it's door kicked in. It was incredibly noisy due to the loutish element in the downstairs bar therefore we hardly got any sleep. We thought at least breakfast would be alright but once again were disappointed with the overall standard.

Overall: I would not stay at this hotel again under any circumstances, and quite frankly am amazed that any company would advertise this in portfolio.  (108502101)

The room itself was pleasant and in good decorative repair, it offered everything we needed.

The shower flooded the bathroom no matter where you placed the shower curtain, Windows and frames were mouldy and in very bad repair. Public areas of hotel were drab, run down and generally in need of improvement. Door to the room slammed VERY loudly everytime it was used. Bar and restaurant areas seemed badly lit. Dead bird behind blinds on front windows to bar area!, showing a lack of general maintenance and cleaning.

Overall: Whilst we had a pleasant stay, the hotel generally (particularly the outside) needs updating and redecoration. The hotel does not look inviting from the road, and internally is very drab.  (108261236)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
