Very friendly staff

The room we stayed in was very basic & could have benefitted from a refurb (like the other rooms in the hotel pictures).

Reception staff were friendly and efficient

The room was far too hot. The room and decor had seen better days and there was a failed double glazed door in the room. The bath was chipped and the bathroom window needed attention. The whole approach to accommodation was in need of some tender loving care. i.e. paint needed attention. I do not think the price paid represented good value for money we paid. It was however clean.

Overall: The site is pretty and peaceful and we spent a comfortable night as a result of this  (108496253)

Loved the spread and look of the hotel - enjoyed a meal on the friday night with 6 friends - service was both friendly and very accomodating.Very relaxed atmosphere and v.nice main hotel - clean - with happy & professional staff

Room was small but ground level location of it was perfect for us. The shower is absolutely abysmal and needs replacing and there is hardly any room to sit on the loo and we are small people! Could hear the people moving about above us at night time as though they were in our room! Coffee facilities also poor

Overall: we enjoyed it in spite of the above bad points . In retrospect we should have maybe asked for a different room - but we loved the little river outside with the moorhens.  (107565767)

Late check-in and helpfulness of late night staff. Comfy room.

Breakfast not included in the price and was very expensive - as I wasn't hungry it ended up costing £10 for a bowl of cereal!

Overall: Comfy room and pleasant staff, value for money needs to improve.  (107667232)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
