I enjoyed the breakfasts - with my favourite croissants available. The breakfast staff similarly were friendly and outgoing. The room itself was OK, though the lack of a handbasin in the block I was housed in was annoying - and these comments only refer to the cheapest £35 a night rooms.

The £35 a night rooms were situated 100 metres out the back of the hotel in an undecorated terrace house with moth eaten carpets on the stairs, with a tatty toilet and with a bathroom that was in a very por state - water spilling over the floor, with a broken seal on the shower screen. Even at £35 this was sub standard. I say again that these comments only refer to the £35 a night rooms.

Overall: This was not of a standard to be called a hotel room - and certainly not even worth £35 a night. For anyone to think that it was shows a gulf in their perception from that of anyone else. At £20 a night it would have been slightly disappointing but at £35 a night it was downright substandard. Finally, I say once again that these comments only refer to the £35 a night rooms.  (108977262)

Despite being very busy at breakfast in the morning, the server was very helpful and friendly

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
