Breakfast on the Saturday was excellent and cooked to order better than the expected buffet breakfast.

Central heating radiator in the room was not working. There was a replacement portable electric radiator which, it has to be said, threw out the heat very well when switched on. Glad it was not middle of winter though.

Overall: Pleased we stayed at this classic hotel. Room was small but comfortable enough. Bathroom was clean and fairly modern (4or 5 years I would say by the styling) Price was good and overall better experience than expected.  (108191082)

Attractive and impressive entrance.

bed requires to be tipped.both had sore backs the following day.no bedside light.noise all night from a vent shaft from kitchen or similar .poor light in room, and outlook terrible

Overall: very disappointed with this visit.in comparison with last visit. room cheap and cheerful more suited to coach parties on cheap break.  (108400678)

Friendly staff, Good food with nice lounge and bar area.

Much too hot in rooms (with heating turned off). Shower very slow running, drains very slow to clear, noise from other rooms via walls and floor. Due to the temperature inside the hotel and the amount of smokers staying they would benifit from an outside seating area.

Overall: OK  (108749527)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
