Very friendly and helpful staff. Delightful Manager, Lindsay. Superb atmosphere in a beautiful and interesting building. Excellent breakfast with the best kippers we have ever eaten. Being able to have a bath instead of a shower. A warm welcome and the feeling of being at home.

First morning no sign of continental breakfast, undercooked bacon and generally a poor breakfast display. After complaining was infromed we could order grapefruit and cold meat but not very apologetic.
Third floor room (no Lift) no offer of help. not shown to room. Very small window with broken sash cord which we held up with the yellow pages. Dated decor slightly peeling and quite dark.
Overall: Disappointing. We left a day early but had to pay the full 5 nights as it was booked on line i.e. Active Hotels policy (but couldn't find it on the website). (107439381)

Everything was excellent. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned and tidied each day. A credit to the manager.
