location of where we were staying.

website advertises bed and breakfast but on booking in was told breakfast no longer offered - this did not reflect on the website. Also no-one available to check out with

Overall: value for money during ongoing refurbishment and places to eat in close proximity.  (108791662)

1.3 / 5 1.3 / 5 Anonymous on 10/08/2009 (Solo leisure traveller)

Convenient to Train Station

The Hotel is still being refurbished (while it advertises itself as already having completed refurbishing), the entry is through a back-door from a pub's backyard, walls and carpets are in tatters, and the room was extremely small. Bad value for money

Overall: The room was very small, poorly ventilated. The hotel was being refurbished, the entrance was through a backyard, which was filled with beer-kegs from the pub/bar next door. The place was dirty with scruffy/torn carpets and marked and broken walls. Not fit for Hotel Guest habitation at any level.  (108650639)

4.3 / 5 4.3 / 5 Anonymous on 24/07/2009 (Solo business traveller)

Staff courtesy; immediate hot water in shower.

Tricky getting TV remote to work; carpet made feet itchy

Overall: Good value and close to where I needed to be.  (108302371)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
