clean hotel and friendly staff - thx for the bacon sarnies on the morning of departure !!( even though it was nearly midday ) - well needed prior to a journey back to yorkshire

nothing really - mix up with the room not being a smoking room could have been avoided but it wasnt a problem as we were given other rooms with no hassle

Good sized room, good breakfast

Booking- no confirmation recieved, on ringing hotel no booking could be found initally, reassured the room booked would have twin beds and a sofa bed at the time of phoning hotel to confirm booking. The room was a double bed and a sofa bed which was not acceptable, when i asked if a twin room + sofa bed was available i was told the hotel only had double beds (even travelodge have twin beds + sofa bed rooms). The bathroom and toilet was dirty, the shower was luke warm on the night of arrival, we were on the ground floor and noisy people were wandering the corridor at 5am which woke us all up. My two teenage boys had to share the double bed.

Overall: Overall i felt the hotel was old and in need of repairs/decorations, we normally stay in travel lodges and to be honest they are cleaner and far more helpful.  (108786852)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
