Excellent food and staff.

Kettle in the room did not work properly. Access to TV channels limited to 4 or 5 and did not even get those listed in the hotel information.

Overall: I enjoyed the overnight stay and would stay again as the bad points were irritating but not enough of a deterrent to prevent me going there again.  (108281880)

Easy to find. The bar had a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was superb. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful.

The outside door to the rear carpark, if left to close on its own, will slam shut, annoying at 2am!

Overall: We used the Hotel as a base to visit family in Banbury, it suited our needs perfectly. We also discovered how handy it was for other locations, Cotswolds, Blenheim Palace, Oxford, Warwick Castle. I booked the Hotel mainly on the strength of the reviews about the Restaurant, which I found to my joy was excellent, and truly deserves all the accolades from previous guests. I would recommend this Hotel and would definately stay again. Tip! - shop around before you book, I saved some money.  (108458627)

Excellent restaurant

Both rooms were very noisy

Overall: Overall it was adequate for our purpose. There were some suites in the courtyard which may have been less noisy  (108892794)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
