Ambience perfect. Leisurely atmosphere. Polite and helpful staff.

Had to wait some time for attention in lounge bar waiting to order dinner. Immediately rectified once we attracted a waiter. It would have been better if our presence had at least been acknowledged as waiters passed our table. We would then not have had to attract their attention ourselves.

Overall: Excellant. Was a nostalgic re-visit for us and as perfect as it had been on previous two occasions.  (107378098)

Superb oak beamed bedroom in a charming hotel. Breakfast was excellent. All the staff were very helpful.

The food and service is excellent; standard and cleanliness of the rooms also very good

I thought that £180 per night was expensive. We have stayed weekends in hotels of similar quality for far less, but The Swan is very popular which keeps the price high.

Overall: On the whole, a very good weekend. Lavenham is an excellent place with a good range of interesting things to see and do, and is very convenient for other equally interesting villages such as Long Melford and Clare  (107885246)
