Very comfortable bed. Room clean.One member of staff who was efficient and helpful.

We felt our experience would have been improved by having a comfortable easy chair in the room,not having to select a time for breakfast the day before and having a wider time frame of availabilty for it. Serving until 9am seemed very early for a weekend.Staff training could maybe help too,particularly in observation and anticipation. For example ,my son had just served himself a bowl of cereals and was presented with his cooked breakfast,meaning he had either to leave the cereal to go soggy while he ate the hot food or leave the hot going cold. As another couple were waiting for their cooked breakfast, they could have been served first.A choice of bread for toast would also have raised the quality of the breakfast. I think also it is important that all staff are trained in how to adress guests. When checking out a member of staff was behind reception area sorting laundry.Our key was taken,but we were not asked if we had had a pleasant stay or any pleasantry at all. Consequently we left feeling that our departure was somewhat inadequate and that we did not feel encouraged to return.If the member of staff was not able to deal with departing guests it would have been better had we been asked to wait while someone more accustomed to the role was summoned. My son and I felt that all the right elements were in place ,but a little extra attention to detail would lift the experience significantly.

FAIRLY CENTRAL AND ON THE BUS ROUTE

Really like staying at your Gran's house, old fashioned, dusty feeling. No dressing table so difficult for a woman to get ready!Breakfast very mediocre. Staff friendly but their English was not good enough to advise you on bus routes, attractions etc.

Overall: Disappointing for the price of the hotel compared to other hotels that we stayed in in Ireland and England for cheaper nightly rates (and they also included breakfast.) A bit like staying in an old age home!  (108420734)

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire.
