3.1 / 5 3.1 / 5 Martin [Bangor, United Kingdom] on 02/12/2004 (Mature couple)

The standard of equipment and furnishings was good.

There was no window in room (claustrophobic). Too hot and air-conditioner was inefficient.

Overall: Well situated, good facilities, most staff pleasant and helpful, booking in took too long.  (1694289)

2.1 / 5 2.1 / 5 Anonymous on 13/11/2004 (Group of work colleagues)

reception 40 minutes queue Air conditioning unsuitable temperature and fan controls did not affect the temperature

Overall: I arrived at reception at peak checking in time, to find one staff member at the desk and a queue through to the main entance door. it took 40 minutes + to finally get tothe front. once inside, the hotel was on the surface adeuately furnished but on deeper inspection the quality of finishings, fittings etc were quite old especially in the bathroom area, where surfaces were damaged, toilet not very clean (the flushing system didn't work properly) . the inadequacy of the Air-conditioning system to my room (which had no windows either) made my stay rather uncomfortable. I didn't sleep very well due to the heat.  (1661556)

3.9 / 5 3.9 / 5 Richard [Melbourne, Australia] on 12/11/2004 (Solo business traveller)

Large room, good bed, heating very efficient

understaffed check in, but staff trying their best

Overall: Overall good, great location, helpful staff, little help with luggage, clean.  (1595534)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
