The staff at reception were really excellent. Very polite throughout. Also at the adjoining pub where we had breakfast.
Understandably it is impossible to have the window open beacause of the noise from the A1 and A14

The breakfast was brilliant - plentiful, hot and well presented. The staff were very helpful, friendly and cheerful.
The room was a bit too hot, and the thermostat made no difference; a bit noisy; we booked a quad room and the sofa was awful and made my back hurt; not much room on the floor with the mattress laid out for the fourth bed.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.
How do you manage to collect so many ratings?
48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
