Reception staff were very good, although were kept waiting to book in as he was checking other hotels for a couple who hadn't booked. I thought this was good business practice but would have been better if he had served those who had booked first.
No chairs in room which was unacceptable.There was spare single settee but it didn't have a mattress on. Customers would enjoy a cumfy chair to sit on instead of having to sit or lie on the bed to relax.
Overall: Was satisfied but the restaurant attached was very poor.On Saturday evening there was not rump steak.On Sunday evening at 6.45pm the following were unavailable, due to a high demand, some starters,all steaks and roasts.Thought this was very poor and some people did leave because of this. The restaurant/pub attached to the hotel is one of the best we have been to. Staff and service for breakfast very friendly and efficient.
It would be better for smokers not to hang around outside the reception entrance so the reception does not continuously smell of stale smoke. It was awful to walk through.
