1: paying bill on arrival before even seeing room. 2: No hairdryer in room, no replacement available 3: Woken up at night by horrendous noise from the plumbing ( noise lasted a good ten minutes) 4:T.V. remote contol not operating 5: Bath panel broken 6: No menu option at breakfast, only full english

Overall: Generally very disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone  (108949322)

Hotelier and staff extremely welcoming to the point of having sat at the bar chatting to them for the evening (we'd planned on goimg out but they made us feel as though we'd been visiting for years), giving us an impromptu guided tour when we remarked on how fascinating the place is. Built in 1472 (20 years before Columbus rediscovered America), it's the second oldest building in Warwick. The food's very good too.

Overall: If you want the production line soulless conveniences of The Holiday Inn with a lift, swimming pool and gymnasium, go there. If you want somewhere with character, friendly staff, heritage and en-suite (at a comparable price), visit this place. Highly reccommended.  (108946971)

I am 6ft tall and had to get through a door about 4ft in height. Once inside there was an arm sticking out as part of the closure mechanism for the door. This was at a very dangerous height especially if the room had to be evacuated in a hurry eg. fire.

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
