5.0 / 5 5.0 / 5 Andrew [Sheffield, GB] on 14/07/2009 (Young couple)

excellent wash facilities, air conditioning, quiet area, choice of tv channels, comfortable bed and beautiful location

Overall: as above  (108669849)

The room was extremely small, sold as a double but too small to be a single. Uncomfortable bed, poor decoration, small portable tv

Overall: Poor - Stay next door at the Shaftsbury Kensington for the same price, much better!  (107525233)

4.1 / 5 4.1 / 5 Bryce [Chester, GB] on 08/10/2008 (Solo business traveller)

Overall: If you pay by credit card the Hotel usually charges the commissions as extra charge to the client's bill. Policy Unacceptable !  (97524773)

4.0 / 5 4.0 / 5 Mickael [La Ciotat, FR] on 09/04/2008 (Other)

proximity to the underground station, nice location, good staff, cleanliness of the room

breakfast not included in the price AND too expensive if desired

Overall: I am used to spending nights in 2 or 3 stars hotels in London so I knew what I was expecting. This is a good hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. However, although it was already mentioned when I booked, I think it is disgraceful to have customers pay extras for a breakfast. Almost £10 for a continental breakfast is thieving. They will charge you £14 for an english breakfast while it costs less than £6 in a traditional pub. That really disappointed me. Apart from that, I enjoyed my stay in this hotel.  (97379864)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
