Make sure you ask for the excellently refurbished rooms and for a room at the back of the hotel with good views of Cap Ferrat

I have spent the last 6 months training to race in the Monaco Ironman Triathlon. I decided to stay a little way out of Monte Carlo at the Artimis hotel to ensure I relaxed properly and was prepared for the race. The room was facing the main road. The airconditioning didnt work and their was a large hole in the ceiling where the airconditioning pipes were hanging out broken and dripping water all over the floor. In the heat I had to leave the windows open all night. I was unable to sleep due to constant traffic noise and mosquitos. The hotel had no other rooms available. The furniture was old and broken and the lights didnt work. The bath tub was filled with debris and the front door to the room was also broken. The room cost 121 euro per night which was more expensive than a colleagues room in the centre of Monte Carlo. My colleagues hotel was exactly what I would expect from a 3 star hotel. I raced the triathlon exhausted and over ran my personal best for the course by 2 hours which ment that I had wasted 6 months training and a considerable amount of money!
The hotel is rated as a 3 star and would struggle to satisfy the requirements of a single star.

the breakfast was very very poor. on monday and on tuesday there was nothing but some cheese. For 8.50 EUR I'd expect MUCH MORE!!!

It was very convenient to the train station and near the beaach
It didn't have a good frontage and looked rather shabby fromm the outside and first impressions are bad
Overall: My first impression of the hotel was not good as the outside was a bit downbeat looking but once we had checked into our room and the staff made us very welcome and we got a lovely breakfast every morning. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back again (3304557992)
