NICE - CLEAN - FRIENDLY IN A VERY SCIENIC PLACE AND GOOD LOCAL FACILITIES. PRETTY CONVINIENT TO TRAVEL TO.

SOMETIMES TRAFFIC NOISES ARE VERY LOUD ON THE BACKSIDE. THE MENUE IS NICE BUT A FEW MORE SNACK FOR PEOPLE WITH SMALE APPETITE WOULD BE NICE (MAYBY IN ENGLISH PLEASE)

Overall: VERY PLEASENT  (107126977)

4.6 / 5 4.6 / 5 Anthony N. [Yateley, Hants, GB] on 30/09/2007 (Mature couple)

Typically quirky Logis decor, spotlessly clean & comfortable.

Overall: Nicely located, good parking opposite. Superb cuisine. Some English -language literature promoting the historic nature of the town might have been an advantage.  (97630377)

4.7 / 5 4.7 / 5 David [Gosport, Hampshire, GB] on 26/09/2007 (Mature couple)

Friendly staff, very attentive service, excellent cuisine/chef, well equipped bedroom with armchairs/coffee table, clean towels daily.

No shower curtain around bath, no tea/coffee making facility. No info in room regarding times for breakfast and dinner. These comments are observations rather than dislikes.

Overall: The lack of tea/coffee making facility was not detailed in the hotel information. The choice of a river view was an option but the alternative of a room at the rear of the hotel has no view at all. If staying for more than one night, the view from a room at the rear of the hotel could be disappointing.  (97617378)

The olde world charm

Room a bit on the small side, but probably unavoidable given the period of the building.

Overall: A very enjoyable experience was had due to the comfortable feeling of the public rooms and the quietness of the accommodation. The location of the hotel overlooking the river was a bonus.  (99345433)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
