very helpful when traffic delayed our arrival- though reception was only open until 4p.m.

Although i had requested an extra bed in our room for my adult daughter and had been informed on the phone the week before that we would have a double room which was larger - WE IN FACT WERE GIVEN A TWIN ROOM WHICH WITH THE EXTRA BED WAS VERY CRAMPED. Apologies were made that the message had not been passed on and the double rooms were booked.

Overall: The breakfast was good but it would have been nice to have some room to eat it! high standard of cleanliness and facilities  (108424596)

Lovely setting and gardens. Nice varied breakfast hamper.

Did not realise there was a pool there.

Overall: Would recommend this hotel to friends visiting this area  (107598057)

The booking process and receptionist were very good. She even offered to get up 30 mins early to deliver our breakfast, which was of a reasonably and acceptable standard.

I thought the room was surprisingly tatty and far too small. We squeezed an extra child bed in, but to be charged

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
