We had a courtyard room. The walls were thin, we could hear normal conversation from the next door room but it did not spoil our stay. We would definately stay again.

Easy to locate,comfortable room,plenty of hot water and very fluffy towels.
Good to be able to invite family staying nearby( including children) to join us for meal. Lovely breakfasts with lots of choice .
Beautifully hot breakfasts served on cold plates....oh dear !

Lovely setting in the Forest of Dean.
Room had character.
Bar food was not very inspiring at all.
Heater in bathroom was on full & couldn't be switched off as adjustment knob broken.
Overall: Didn't think our room was good value for money in relation to other hotels we've stayed at. The Speech House had interesting history , but decor was generally looking a bit tired. (107792015)

Quality of everything was very good.
Room was really really small
When entering from the side road the sign for reception was very well hidden.
Internet only available in the reception area, not even in the dining room 15' away.
Overall: We just stayed overnight on our way through so it was fine. I would not want to stay in our room for any longer or it would have lead to divorce. maybe the more expensive rooms are better. (107873207)

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
