The room was on the 3rd floor and away from the traffic noise and had a great view from the skylights.

Only one bedside table in a double room and the toilet seat was broken. Pretty slack in a 4 star hotel.

Overall: We have stayed in many 4 star hotels and appreciated we got an on-line deal for our stay, but the accommodation was, in our view, far from 4 star. There was only one bedside table - yet enough room for two. The toilet seat was broken. The shampoo dispenser had no top. The blind on one skylight was broken. These are all minor details - but just gave the impression that we were in a sub-standard room reserved for 'cheap' on-line packages. It was clean, but when it comes to leaving a residing memory, you always remember the detail - and the detail at the hotel was poor. The leisure facilities were okay - but the pool side tiling was damaged around the pillars and the sauna's light fittings looked badly burnt and in need of repair.  (1795144)

Location is great for Princess Street and Castle and shopping

The hotel is not a 4 star and the spa is in need of a complete refurbish the pool and changing rooms were very dirty. The rooms very small and dirty the cleaning of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired.

Overall: The hotel is at best a 3 star  (107489225)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
