What a surprise! A really good hotel upto the standards found in hotels abroad. A keen competitive price. Excellent food, good service and very very comfortable.

Only criticism. No dressing table in bedroom (31) and my wife found it difficult to apply her make up.

The ambience is wonderful, creaky floors and all. Very well refurbished with loads of character.

The shower was difficult to turn on warm without having an unwelcome cold dousing first!

Overall: Both my husband and I loved this hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the bar well-stocked and breakfast excellent (we didn't stay for dinner so can't comment) We picked an unexpectedly quiet weekend, so don't know what it would be like under busy conditions.  (107953767)

A first class hotel with helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed a very impressive dinner and were able to then relax in the welcoming bar area.

Your facility is superb! I was extremely impressed by your staff, the facility and the quality of your food and beverages. Your afternoon Receptionist on my arrival was outstanding - warm, genuine and very responsive to my needs. Your Bar and Dining Room hosts were also among the best I've experienced - anywhere in the world!

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
