Bad wasp problem just outside so couldn't enjoy the grounds

Lovely setting, fabulous room (deluxe double), friendly staff.
Entrance sign didn't do the hotel justice but someone has commented on that on Trip Advisor.
Overall: Lovely evening, felt spoilt and enjoyed ourselves. Quite pricey though. (107938300)
Good location, nice ambience
No flowers in room on arrival, although they had been delivered to the hotel.No Amontillado sherry in bar,no Plymouth Gin (next choice). Food in restaurant not up to two rosette standard,lukewarm, not cooked properly (scallops)and had obviously been sitting around for some time (boulangere potatoes leathery)this was reported to the assistant manager, who reduced the bill, but the experience spoilt what was an important birthday treat.
Overall: The staff were willing and attentive enough, but had not had sufficient training in anticipating customers needs, and seemed to be unable to act on own initiative. Insufficient attention to detail. (107475093)
