I was impressed by all the staff but having a glass of wine delivered from where I had dinner - The Golf Club - to me on my return to the hotel was lovely.
I did not know the bar was reserved the night I stayed and that hte restaurant was fully booked in the hotel that night but on a positive note the hotel staff told me the food in the Golf Club was really good and they were right.
I was also supplied with a brolly which badly needed.

it was a shock to see lots of poorly washed and therefore dirty but supposedly "clean" dishes, cups and milk jugs in the breakfast area so this was not what I expected to find in such a smart hotel; online booking showed two rooms but hotel computer only showed one on arrival;
flickering loose electrical connection to one of bathroom lights above the basin;
missing were two button covers from the tap controls in the bath / shower so that a wire was exposed to view in the temperature control while showering so it seemed unsafe electrically;

room was average at best, would expect better linen and electrical equipment from a De Vere, but were satisfactory. Just feel your standards were not as high as Carden Park and St. Davids Park
