Beautiful location & gardens, excellent staff who were friendly and very helpful.
Small room that was terribly hot even with the noisy AC unit running all night,bed to short for my 6'4" husband (his fault really), cooked breakfasts over priced and pretty bad (full english & kippers)with diabolical coffee and the hotel was just shabby in it's appearance - Peeling paint, ripped carpets, peeling wallpaper and the bedroom was under equipped for what these days is the norm'.
Overall: We return to the UK frequently to see friends and relatives in the area and this hotel would be so convenient for us if the rooms were nicer. The saving grace was the staff who were lovely.If the hotel was spruced up and the rooms given a much needed face lift we would try the hotel again but opt for a much larger room - There was a small wedding in progress which may have explained why we were given that particular room and for just a single nights stay it was acceptable. beautiful setting & surroundings on well kept grounds
Broken English from the only 2 people of reception is not good, nor was the usual tack of getting you to sign an open credit agreement which I never do, even though he tried to enforce such 3 times (deceptively). Far too warm !

The room was spacious for Europe, and the bath room was a good size, too. The tub was extra long and comfortable. Room service was excellent, and timely...Highly recommend any of their tea options, absolutely delicious all of them...Taxi service was timely...and the front desk was always cheerful and helpful...History of building was facinating...
When we checked in, the front desk had no record of our reservation...turned out they had it, but it was under the wrong name, and the booking agency had miss printed most of the information...but we sorted it all out, and they gave us a complementary upgrade. When checking out, they tried to charge us for the upgrade, but upon review of the bill and a breif discussion, they dropped the price back to original price quoted on our voucher...So slight problem, but nothing serious...They were very accomidating, on both points...So Eacellent customer service...
Overall: Had a wonderful time...was a great place to be..even with jet lag...beautiful grounds...well tended...wish we had had more time to stay...Nice and quiet... (97046196)
Grounds and communal areas. Very quick delivery of items requested from housekeeping.
Very small room - bed seemed smaller than a double - definitely not 4* standard. Not being able to order hot food at the bar at 9.45pm. Receptionist not particularly helpful when I wanted to consider other room options.
Overall: Fine for our requirements as the wedding we attended was at Stoke Park so not much time spent in the room/hotel. (99516914)
