Not much, except it was reasonably easy to find

Decor of room and bathroom. Equipment very basic - no kettle for hot drink making. No hairdryer. No airconditioning. Basic cleanliness - e.g. cockroaches removed from under bed and in bathroom. Size of room and quality of fitments e.g. shower and bathsurround shabby and tacky. Musty smell pervaded. No fridge or safe.

Overall: THis hotel was the worst we have used in fifteen years of travelling in many countries. Value was poor, compared with the other hotels we used - the Spanish hotels in Lorca, Salamanca and Madrid were all excellent and worth their star rating (usually 4 star). Staff and amenities were all very good value for rates. The Campanile in Dax was the most expensive and poorest quality. We would have rated it as a Hostal not a Hotel, and would certainly not have booked it had we known its state and quality.  (2183060)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
