Central location cannot be beaten. Everything, pubs, shops, market, restaurants etc;etc; are within a short walk of the hotel.

Overall: Fantastic hotel, have stayed twice before and will definately be going back there next year.  (108479034)

4.6 / 5 4.6 / 5 Margaret [Peterborough, GB] on 20/10/2009 (Family with older children)

We have stayed at the Temple Gate on many occasions and have never had any problems we enjoy it being within walking distance to town and relatives

Overall: Very good we had adults teenagers and a 3year old and everyone enjoyed it although our little one did spread himself about in the lobby whilst he was colouring etc and they never complained about him once  (107205973)

4.9 / 5 4.9 / 5 Airlie [London, United Kingdom;GB] on 22/03/2007 (Group of adult friends)

My only complaint would be that both my room and my friends' room smelled like stale smoke. I noticed there was a no smoking sign in the hotel, but then ashtrays are provided in the rooms.

Overall: Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay. I loved the hotel and had a great craic on St Paddy's Day in Ennis!  (99116327)

3.7 / 5 3.7 / 5 Maryellen [Port Washington, United States;US] on 27/02/2007 (Group of adult friends)

The room, although clean and sufficient, seemed a little spare for the money.

Overall: The hotel was fine. The bar was too hot, though, on the night we spent there (Feb 23).  (99314769)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
