Guest Reviews

3.1 / 5 3.1 / 5 Nicola [Hampton Court, GB] on 04/08/2009 (Solo business traveller)

Hotel very centrally located. Staff generally friendly and helpful.

My (single) room was small and not especially inviting. There was a lingering smell of what could have been tobacco smoke from a previous occupant. My bill was initially incorrectly calculated although immediately, and apologetically, corrected when I pointed this out.

Overall: For a one-night stay it was adequate - for a longer stay I would have requested a change of room.  (108548674)

Nothing outstandingly good.

Nothing particularly bad.

Overall: No complaints, but £99 per night for a single room is expensive, considering other hotels I have stayed in with similar standards/facilities, have been much cheaper.  (107720379)

4.1 / 5 4.1 / 5 Martin [Cobham, GB] on 02/06/2009 (Solo business traveller)

Perfect location, opposite Railway station & Metro. BT Openzone WiFi in room.

Room small, with opaque window, so no view of the outside world. Bathroom floor tiles broken.

Overall: clean, warm and considering it's position by the station really quiet.  (107608802)

The fire alarm went off at 2am - only 2 members of staff on site - didnt's see one of them - no communication - car park gates locked so couldn't get out - didn't know if it was safe to go back to sleep - my complaint is being investigated by council H & S exec

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
