This large hotel is in a good location for ferry travel & breakfast can be taken early. We paid the extra for an upgrade which was worth it rather than being in the main dining hall with 6 coachloads of people. The service in the upgraded dining room was very good, with a smile.

It was tricky to find a space in the car park. The hotel was very crowded with queues for check-in. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Only one girl checking out hundreds of guests. The hotel is very shabby/falling apart - glad we had an upgraded room. There is extra cost for the small swimming pool and extra again to hire a towel! The pool attendants were very grouchy & unfriendly. We were on the 5th floor and could still hear the nightclub til late, both nights. The cheaply-made food was bland and lukewarm.

Overall: Liked the location but could not wait to find some peace & quiet. This place could do with a good overhaul.  (108514709)

check in was very slow, as was collecting room key on return to hotel

Overall: good standard of food was good apart from sat carvery night when the veg had been over cooked and apple pie pastry not cooked  (108487849)

Friendly staff, clean and tidy room, fairly good choice on food

Booking in was slow and the member of staff could not complete the transaction we had to wait for a senior member to complete payment.

The upgrade restaurant was brilliant and the staff very helpful. The service overall was good. It must be said that we were not expecting the Ritz.

The cabaret was rubbish. The bog standard restaurant was even worse. It seems that the online booking had us down for a non-smoking room but we wanted a smoking room and we don't recall doing anything to request a non-smoking room.

Overall: We enjoyed it but we were under no illusions as to where we were going to be staying.  (108664081)
