Hotel a bit "run down" - room (especially loo / shower) needs a refurb

Bed linen clean.Hotel had easy accsess at all the places we wanted to visit and in quiet loation.
Hotel decor needs update and cleaning.
Should have been informed about renovation work on one side and two over the road to our hotel.

Convenience to Oxford Street and buses
Will be better once all the repainting of all rooms is complete. Room 1 is partially repapered and painted is looking very bright and fresh

Reception gave a good impression as soon as you came in - businesslike and friendly.

The room was too small to have space for a chair. Not a problem for a simple overnight stay, though.
Overall: This is a well-run, helpful small hotel. Clean and neat, and very well situated. Breakfast was good, and the breakfast room tidy and well-stocked. Service was quick. You won't necessarily find enormous space in your room, but space is at a premium this far into central London, and at the price it represents very good value for someone looking for a dependable base for a short stay. I made a mistake when booking online by putting in the incorrect date (a week into the future). When I tried to book in this was quickly picked up by your receptionist and a replacement room was allocated and the wrong booking, a week later, was cancelled without charge. No fuss was made and this was greatly appreciated.
The window in the basement room by the restaurant is draughty and so you must lose a lot of heat through it.
