friendly front desk

poor quality overall

Overall: My daughter booked this for me online - I wanted something not too far from Waterloo station (it was actually an 8 pound ride to the station so that should be taken in consideration in cost analysis ... This was an old hotel not updated to today's standards. very tiny cramped room good for no more than a couple of nights at a time and one suitcase. (the bed is against 2 walls, right against the heater and partly under the window. old fashioned and impractical separate hot and cold faucets not working lamp no safety information very old tough spring mattress that dug in my back all night it was in a rougher part of town the door with an old fashion key/hole opened out into the hall instead of inside the room - it was impossible for me to put my suitcase in front of the door to block access for safety sake (single woman traveling alone. it seemed threadbare but probably clean- very thin walls - the guest next to my room was angry (and let me know it loudly !!) because I took a shower and made some noise (while trying to be as quiet as possible)early in the morning (6 am) (I had an early train to Paris) this is for someone who doesn't care about the surroundings, not ocncerned about personal privacy and safety, does not need to watch the news in bed (no TV in room but 2 or 3 in the lobby) but not a pb for me. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful.  (1728207)

Cheap-ish

Shaver point in room didn't work Door lock was not entirely secure and needs replacing Hotel cleanliness was generally fairly poor and hotel felt delapidated

Overall: Glad to survive in such a rotten area - my fault for not knowing London that well!  (108668150)

10% discount in the attached indian restaurant(which didnt even sell alcohol as it had no license!!! sheets were clean and hot water. open 24 hours.

dirty floor, walls, chairs with stains of what god only knows! door was very old fashioned and could of been broken into extremely easy, tv was fuzzy, crap view of house tops, room very un-soundproof,tiny room.

Overall: never again, we came and enjoyed ourselves with some champagne and left at 1.00am in the morning and slept in the comfort of our bed. it was like a drug addicts hostel  (108586141)

Why do we publish ratings from Active Hotels?

Our rating system is designed to give you the confidence to find and book the hotel that best suits your needs. We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience.

How do I add a rating?

Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question.

All our ratings are created by guests who have booked through Active Hotels (or its sister sites) and completed their stay over the last year. We don't edit, alter or adjust the ratings so you can be sure of unbiased opinions.

How do you manage to collect so many ratings?

48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.
