We've worked hard to create a fair and impartial process to collect our ratings so you can always be assured of a great hotel experience. How do I add a rating?Unlike other sites that offer ratings, our rating process is by invitation only. This ensures that 100% of the ratings you see on our site come from guests that have booked online with us and stayed at the hotel in question. How do you manage to collect so many ratings?48 hours after departure from your accommodation booked through Active Hotels or any of our sister sites, you may be invited to complete a guest review questionnaire. This means that, for most hotels, we're able to post more than 1 guest rating every single week. We currently display over 70,000 ratings and we add hundreds of scores from real guests every day.

The day receptionist was very nice and helpful.
On arrival we couldn't check in as we were too early, however we were going to be out late so advised reception we would have to check in at 1am instead - this was fine and the receptionist took our bag for us so that we didn't have to leave it in the car.
On arrival that night we were allocated a twin room instead of a double, we complained, were given a key card for an alternative room - which had someone elses luggage in, we complained again and were given a 3rd room, which sadly had people in bed in it - very embarrasing all round. We ended up back in the twin room, sadly the beds in this room were old and had springs coming through them. We complained the following morning and were allocated a new room for our second night.
In addition, I should also mention that the quality of breakfast was dreadful - the croissants were so squashed it was beyond belief!
Finally we actually had to ask for a discount which should have been offered given the complete fiasco on our first night. We eventually got a £10 discount.
